The how-to guide to your career success

What motivates you?

Q: What motivates you?

A: I am a very motivated person with a desire to achieve. I like winning, but I am strangely not competitive with others. I compete with my own list of goals. I plan ahead, to a timeframe, eg. two years, five years etc. That causes me to push myself to meet the goals that I have set myself.

My father helped me to believe in myself from young age. He always told me that I could do anything that I put my mind to. He never spoke of gender or socio demographic barriers. So I never considered them until confronted with them in the workplace. I pushed ahead through blind faith in myself.

Since becoming a mother 23 years ago, I have been motivated to succeed for my sons. I have wanted to make them proud of me.
